In 1914, while serv­ing in Greens Fork, In­di­a­na, he met and mar­ried Blanche Kerr, who served as the team’s com­pos­er and pi­an­ist. They were ap­par­ent­ly liv­ing in or near Ind­i­an­a­po­lis, In­di­a­na, in 1942. Virgil Brock died 1978. "When the Moon Comes over the Mountain" the second tune in this booklet, is a popular song. It was written by Howard Johnson Harry Woods, and Kate Smith and published in 1931. The song became Kate Smith's theme song on radio and television.
