His father took Mozart and his sister on tour to Paris, London etc... chiefly as harpsichord prodigies in 1763-1766. Mozart had already started to compose by 1773, he had three times visited Italy and had entered the service of the Prince Archbishop of Salzburg, he disliked this and left his service after a quarrel in 1781, settling in Vienna.
